Good eats and views from Galilea, Mallorca

I can’t believe I’ve lived here for almost two years now and haven’t written about a quaint little town, called Galilea.

Picturesque and just plain adorable, Galilea is nestled into the tramuntana mountainside just up the hill from my hometown, Puigpunyent. In fact when you come down Camí de Jesús you just make a left instead of a right at the end and make your way up a rather windy and cliff hugging road to get there. Watch out for cyclists and hikers not paying attention to where they’re going. More than once I could have killed someone if it hadn’t been for my cautious driving tendencies on that road.

Aside the potential near death experience on the ascent, the charming town boasts rolling hills, terraced lands with old farmhouses and the classic, ancient European plaza, not to mention some of the best and unpretentious eateries Mallorca has to offer. It’s also a favorite destination for hiking enthusiasts.

Enjoy this visual treat of one of the lesser-known treasures of the island…

My favorite little pub with delicious tapas and a to-die for view from the rear balcony. You can sit outside even in winter if it's sunny.

Every plaza needs a little old church.
